Get
Inspired! Queen Street Art Hop, is a
fundraising event for the Sir David Martin Foundation, helping young
people in crisis. The Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation
created by the late Governor of NSW, Sir David Martin, who had a
dream of “safety, hope and opportunity, for all young Australians.”
The aim of this event is to raise much needed funds
for three major youth programs the Foundation supports; Creative
Youth Initiatives, Triple Care Farm and South West Youth
Services.
- Creative Youth Initiatives located in Surry Hills,
is an innovative program that encourages marginalised young people to resolve
issues through art and music.
- Triple Care Farm located in Robertson, providing rehabilitation
for young people with complex needs including drug and alcohol problems, mental
health issues, and homelessness.
- South West Youth Services located in Campbelltown,
employs a counsellor to assist young people dealing with a range of issues to
feel empowered and take control of their lives before they are in extreme crisis.
These programs are vital to support these young people turn their lives
around. Numerous young people and their families have benefited and overwhelmingly
believe that these programs have saved their lives.
Beyond supporting these programs the Foundation also helps continue to
educate youth through the SDMF scholarship program.
‘ For many young people, homelessness begins the descent into alcohol and
drug abuse, violence, involvement in serious crime and other behaviours damaging
their physical and mental health’
I am writing to ask for your help!!!
